JustClip (justclip.ai) is run by BLACKCROSS STUDIO LTD, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17324356, whose registered office is at 78 York Street, London W1H 1DP, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”, “our”). You can contact us at [email protected].
Some parts of these terms apply differently depending on whether you are a consumer (using JustClip mainly for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession) or a business customer. Where that matters, we say so.
2. Who can use JustClip
You must be at least 16 years old to use JustClip.
To start a trial or buy a plan or a credit pack you must be 18 or over, or have the permission of a parent or guardian who accepts these terms for you.
You must not use JustClip if you are the subject of UK, EU, UN or US sanctions, or if you are located in a country subject to comprehensive sanctions.
3. Your account
Give us accurate details and keep your email address up to date.
Keep your login, sign-in codes and any API keys private. You are responsible for what happens under your account unless it was caused by our failure to keep it secure.
An account is for one person. Don't share it or sell access to it. Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed it.
4. What JustClip does
You give us a video, either as a link (we currently support Twitch and Kick links on every plan and YouTube links on plans that include YouTube fetching) or as a file upload. We transcribe it, use automated tools including AI to suggest short clips, and add captions, framing and edits. You can review, edit and download the clips.
What each plan includes is described on our pricing page at the time you buy. We keep improving JustClip, so features may change. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you first, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
5. Credits and fair use
JustClip uses one balance of credits. Plans and credit packs add credits to it, and clipping, Beat Edits and the AI generation tools (such as AI covers, B-roll and visual hooks) are all paid for from it.
Clipping uses 1 credit per minute of the video you submit, not per clip you get from it. Each video is charged by its length, rounded up to the next whole minute. The credits are taken from your balance when you submit the video.
The number of credits a Beat Edit or an AI generation costs is shown before you start it. AI prices may change when our AI providers change their prices.
Each plan can spend only part of its monthly credits on AI generation: up to 250 credits on Clipper, 800 credits on Pro and 2,400 credits on Studio. Credits from packs and bonus credits can be spent on AI without that limit.
If a video or Beat Edit fails, we give the credits it used back, and an AI generation's credits come back when our AI provider fails, blocks or cancels it. This usually happens automatically; if it doesn't, email us and we will fix it. A job that completes is not refunded because you don't like the result.
Plan credits are issued for each billing period and reset when your plan renews. Unused plan credits do not roll over to the next period and end when your plan ends.
Credits from packs and bonus credits do not expire while your account stays open, and keep working if your plan ends. You can buy credit packs with or without a plan.
Plan credits are used first, then credits from packs and bonus credits.
You must be 18 or over to use the AI generation tools.
All credits on your balance end when your account is closed. They have no cash value and can't be transferred or sold.
Fair use. Your credits are for your own use of JustClip in the normal way. We may set reasonable limits to protect the service for everyone, such as a maximum video length or file size, a limit on how many videos can process at once, or rate limits on the API. We may pause or refuse processing that looks automated, abusive or designed to get around limits or billing. Where a limit applies to your plan, we show it in the app or on the pricing page.
6. Plans, prices and payment
Prices are shown on our pricing page. The total you will pay, including any VAT or sales tax that applies where you live, is shown at checkout before you pay.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. By subscribing, you authorise us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method for each billing period until you cancel.
If a payment fails, we may pause processing or end your plan until it is paid. We will let you know so you can update your payment details.
Special offers (such as a founding price or bonus credits) apply only as described when you take them up.
7. The free trial
New customers can try the Clipper plan free for 3 days, with a balance of 180 credits and videos of up to 2 hours each. A payment card is required to start the trial. There is one trial per person and per card.
If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your Clipper subscription starts automatically. We charge the monthly price shown when you started the trial (plus any tax shown at checkout), and then the same amount every month until you cancel.
If you cancel during the trial, you won't be charged. You can cancel in Settings at any time.
The trial's credits are for clipping and Beat Edit. They can't be spent on the AI generation tools; credits you buy can be.
Trial credits don't carry over into the paid plan.
We may refuse or end a trial if we reasonably believe it is a repeat trial or is being misused.
8. Automatic renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly, whichever you chose) until you cancel. Each renewal is charged at the price for your plan at that time. If we increase the price of your plan, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
9. Cancelling your plan
You can cancel at any time in Settings (“Cancel plan”), or through the billing portal (“Manage billing”). You can also email us and we will do it for you.
Cancelling stops future charges. Your plan stays active, with its remaining credits, until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and then ends.
We don't give refunds, including for the rest of a period that has already started, except where the law gives you a right to a refund (see section 11).
10. Your 14-day right to cancel
If you are a consumer in the UK or the European Union, you normally have the right to cancel a contract made online within 14 days, without giving a reason.
JustClip starts working as soon as you subscribe or buy a credit pack. By subscribing or buying a credit pack, you ask us to make JustClip available to you straight away, and you acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel a purchase once you start using the credits it includes (for example, by submitting a video for processing).
You confirm this at checkout. The free trial is there so you can try everything before you pay.
11. No refunds
All payments are final. We don't give refunds for subscriptions, renewals, the rest of a billing period or credit packs, except where the law gives you a right to a refund. If a video or Beat Edit fails, or our AI provider fails, blocks or cancels an AI generation, the credits it used go back to your balance. Our Refund & Cancellation Policy has the details. This doesn't affect your statutory rights.
12. Your content and your rights to it
“Your content” means the videos and links you submit, and the transcripts, clips, captions and edits made from them.
You keep ownership. We don't claim any ownership of your content.
The permission you give us. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, transcribe, analyse, edit and show your content, only so we can provide JustClip to you, keep it secure and meet our legal obligations. This includes sending it to the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy who do this work for us. The licence ends when your content is deleted, apart from copies kept for a short time in backups.
You must have the rights. For every video you submit, you promise that you own it or have all the permissions you need (for example, from the creator, under a clipping campaign's rules, or under a licence) to have it processed by us and to use the clips the way you intend. You also promise that doing so does not infringe anyone's copyright, trade marks, image or privacy rights.
Platform rules are your responsibility. When you give us a link to a video on YouTube, Twitch, Kick or any other platform, you are responsible for complying with that platform's terms, including any rules about downloading or reusing its videos. The same goes for the platforms where you publish your clips. Only submit links to videos you are allowed to use in this way.
What you publish is your responsibility. Clips made with JustClip are not endorsed by us, or by the people or platforms that appear in them. Don't present a clip in a way that misleads viewers about who made it or who endorses what.
Claims about your content. If someone makes a legal claim against us because content you submitted broke these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs caused by that claim. If you are a consumer, this applies only to the extent the law allows.
How long we keep your videos and clips is explained in our Privacy Policy. Download anything you want to keep.
13. Acceptable use
You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. In short: don't use JustClip for content you don't have the rights to, for illegal or harmful content, for deceptive deepfakes, or to attack, overload, resell or get around the limits of the service.
14. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on JustClip infringes your rights, follow our Copyright & Takedown Policy. We remove infringing material when we are told about it and close the accounts of repeat infringers.
15. AI output
JustClip uses automated systems, including third-party AI models, to transcribe videos, pick moments, write hooks and captions, and make edits. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or inappropriate: captions can mishear words, hooks can overstate, and scores such as “virality” are rough estimates, not predictions.
Review every clip before you publish it. You are responsible for what you publish.
We don't promise any number of clips, views, followers or earnings from using JustClip.
Where a platform or the law requires AI-generated or AI-altered content to be labelled, labelling your clips is your responsibility.
16. AI Studio and AI-generated content
AI Studio and our other AI generation tools (such as AI covers, B-roll and visual hooks) make images and videos from your prompts, photos and clips, using third-party AI models. You must be 18 or over to use them.
You must have the rights and the consent. Only upload photos, footage and other material that you own or have permission to use. If it shows a real person, you must be that person or have their documented consent to use their likeness this way. We ask you to confirm this before you generate, and we keep a record of your confirmation.
Outputs may not be unique. AI models can make results that are similar or identical to results made for other people. We don't claim ownership of what you make, but we can't promise that nobody else will make something like it.
How you use outputs is your responsibility. Check what you make before you publish it, and make sure it doesn't mislead people or infringe anyone's rights.
We may block prompts and outputs. We check prompts automatically before anything is made, and our AI provider checks what is made. We may refuse a request, or block or remove an output, if we reasonably believe it breaks these terms or our Acceptable Use Policy.
Say when it's AI. Where the law or the platform you post on requires it, you must disclose that an image or video is AI-generated or AI-altered. Some platforms label AI media themselves, and some clipping campaigns don't accept it.
17. Our intellectual property
JustClip's software, design, templates and brand belong to us or the people we license them from. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use JustClip under these terms. Templates, fonts and effects that JustClip renders into your clips may be used as part of those clips for any lawful purpose. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without paying you.
18. Other services we connect to
JustClip works with services we don't control, such as the video platforms you link to, Google or Apple sign-in, and Stripe. Their own terms apply to your use of them. We are not responsible for changes those services make that stop a link, sign-in method or feature from working, but we will try to keep JustClip working with them.
19. The beta and availability
JustClip is in public beta. Parts of it are new, may change quickly and may have bugs. We aim to keep JustClip available and working well, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, and we sometimes need to pause it for maintenance. Keep your own copies of anything you want to keep.
20. Suspension and closing accounts
You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected] from your account email address. Cancel any subscription first (or ask us to), so you aren't charged again.
We may suspend or close your account, or remove content, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if you don't pay, if we reasonably believe your use is causing harm or legal risk to us or others, or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
If we close your account without it being your fault, we will tell you first and give you time to download your clips.
If you open a chargeback with your bank, we may suspend the account while it is resolved. Please contact us first; we can usually sort things out faster.
21. Our responsibility to you
If you are a consumer: we must provide JustClip with reasonable care and skill and as described. If we don't, you have legal rights, for example to ask us to fix the problem or to get some or all of your money back. If digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content because we didn't use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or pay you compensation. We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, and JustClip is for personal and creator use, so we are not responsible to consumers for business losses such as lost profits or lost business opportunities.
If you are a business customer: we are not liable for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill or data, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you arising from these terms or your use of JustClip in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
For everyone: we are not responsible for how platforms or audiences treat clips you publish, or for problems caused by third-party services we don't control or by your own content. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
22. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the law, in JustClip or in how we run it. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect (unless the law or a security issue requires a faster change). If you don't agree with the change, you can cancel before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when these terms last changed.
23. Complaints, law and disputes
If you have a complaint, please email [email protected] first. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to resolve things fairly.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you are a consumer living in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country and can bring proceedings in your local courts.
24. General
If a court decides that part of these terms is invalid, the rest of the terms still apply.
We may transfer this agreement to a business that takes over JustClip. We will tell you if this happens, and it won't reduce your rights. You may not transfer your account or this agreement to someone else without our permission.
If we don't enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
Nobody other than you and us has any rights under these terms.
