Copyright & Takedown Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

We respect the rights of creators. Our Terms require every user to own, or have permission to use, each video they submit. This page explains how to tell us if you think content on JustClip infringes your copyright.

1. How JustClip handles content

Users submit videos by link or upload, and JustClip makes clips from them. Videos and clips are stored privately in the account that made them; JustClip doesn't publish them or make them public. Source videos are deleted 7 days after processing and clips 30 days after they are made (see our Privacy Policy).

If a clip made with JustClip has been posted on another platform, such as TikTok, YouTube or Instagram, please also report it to that platform. Only the platform can remove it from there.

2. Sending a takedown notice

Email [email protected] with the subject “Copyright notice”, or write to BLACKCROSS STUDIO LTD, 78 York Street, London W1H 1DP, United Kingdom. Please include:

  1. your name, postal address, phone number and email address;
  2. the copyright work you believe has been infringed;
  3. enough detail for us to find the material on JustClip, for example the link to the original video that was clipped, the name of the channel, and anything else that helps identify the account involved;
  4. a statement that you believe in good faith that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
  5. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act for the owner; and
  6. your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is fine).

Notices from the United States that meet the requirements of 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) can be sent the same way.

3. What we do with a notice

  • We acknowledge valid notices and normally act within 2 working days.
  • We remove or disable access to the material identified, stop further processing of it, and tell the user concerned, including a copy of the notice (we may remove your personal contact details from the copy).
  • If a notice is incomplete or unclear, we will ask you for the missing information before acting.

4. Counter-notices

If you are a JustClip user and your content was removed because of a notice you believe was a mistake or misidentification, you can send us a counter-notice at [email protected]. Please include:

  1. your name, postal address, phone number and email address;
  2. what was removed;
  3. a statement that you believe in good faith that it was removed by mistake or misidentification, and why (for example, you own it or have a licence);
  4. your agreement to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales (or, if you live in the United States, the federal court for your district), and to accept service from the person who sent the notice; and
  5. your physical or electronic signature.

We send the counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us within 10 working days that they have started legal proceedings, we may restore the material.

5. Repeat infringers

We keep a record of valid notices. We close the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyright, and we may close an account after a single serious infringement. Closed accounts are not refunded for the rest of a billing period.

6. False notices

Sending a notice or counter-notice that you know is false can make you legally liable. If you are not sure whether something infringes your rights, consider taking legal advice first.
