Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

This policy explains how JustClip uses personal data. It applies to our website (justclip.ai), the JustClip app, our browser helper and our API. We've tried to keep it plain and specific. Questions go to [email protected].

1. Who we are

BLACKCROSS STUDIO LTD (company number 17324356, registered in England and Wales, registered office 78 York Street, London W1H 1DP, United Kingdom) runs JustClip and is the controller of the personal data described here. That means we decide how and why it is used, and we are responsible for it under the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and, for people in the European Union, the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

2. What we collect and why

Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests are running, securing and improving JustClip, preventing fraud, and keeping our business records. You can object to this use (see Your rights).

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't share it for targeted advertising.

3. People in your videos

Videos you submit may show other people or include their voices and names. We process that only to provide JustClip to you. Under our Terms, you must have the right to submit every video you give us. If you appear in a video processed on JustClip and have a concern, contact us at [email protected].

4. How we use AI

To transcribe and analyse your videos we send audio, transcripts and still frames to the AI providers listed below for transcription and analysis, which process them on our behalf. We use their business API services, whose terms say they don't use the data we send to train their models. We don't use your content to train third-party AI models.

When you use AI Studio or the other AI generation tools (such as AI covers, B-roll and visual hooks), we send your prompt and the photos, clip frames or video it needs to Higgsfield, which runs the image and video models for us. Before anything is sent, we check the prompt automatically and refuse some requests, for example ones that name well-known people or brands. Higgsfield also checks what is made and may block it.

We use your clip ratings and edits to tune the suggestions JustClip makes for you, and in combined form to improve suggestions for all users.

We don't make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects using only automated means. We do use automated checks to prevent repeat free trials (for example, the same card being used twice). If you think a check got it wrong, contact us and a person will review it.

5. Who we share data with

We share personal data only with service providers that process it for us under contract (“sub-processors”), with professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants, with a buyer if our business is ever sold, and with authorities when the law requires it. Our sub-processors are:

Stripe and Google also act as independent controllers for some of their own purposes, such as fraud prevention and managing your Google account; their own privacy policies apply to that. When you paste a link to a video on YouTube, Twitch or Kick, we (or, for YouTube, our proxy provider) request that video from the platform, which will see the request.

6. International transfers

Our servers are in the EU (Finland). Some of the providers above are in the United States or process data there. When personal data leaves the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on one of these safeguards:

  • adequacy regulations or decisions, including the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the “UK–US data bridge”) and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified; or
  • the provider's data processing terms, which include the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses together with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

You can ask us for more information about the safeguard used for a particular provider.

7. How long we keep data

  • Source videos (videos you upload or that we fetch from a link) are deleted automatically once processing has finished and neither the project nor its clips have changed for 7 days. We keep a small thumbnail so your dashboard still shows a picture.
  • Rendered clips are deleted automatically 30 days after they last changed. Download any clip you want to keep.
  • Editor files (such as videos, music and images you add in the editor or AI Studio) are deleted automatically once they are more than 30 days old and no clip, Beat Edit or AI generation uses them.
  • When your plan ends, your clips, source videos, editor files, AI images and videos, Beat Edits and campaign posts are deleted automatically 5 days later. Credits you bought stay on your account.
  • AI Studio results and the photos used to make them are kept while you have a plan and follow the rule above when it ends. The prompts, and the age and consent confirmations recorded with them, are kept with your account until you close it.
  • Transcripts, clip details and your edits are kept with the project until you delete the project or close your account.
  • Account data is kept while your account is open. When you ask us to close your account, we delete it within 30 days, except for the records below.
  • Invoices, payment and tax records are kept for 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to, because UK tax law requires it.
  • Trial-check card fingerprints are kept for as long as we need them to prevent repeat trials, even after an account is closed.
  • Referral and affiliate records are kept while the affiliate account is open and for as long as needed to settle commissions, handle chargebacks and meet tax obligations.
  • Server logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
  • Backups may hold deleted data for a short time until they are overwritten.

8. Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to:

  • get a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data deleted;
  • restrict how we use your data, or object to our use of it;
  • receive data you gave us in a portable format; and
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To use any of these rights, email [email protected] from the email address on your account. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We reply within one month, and there is normally no charge. Some rights have limits; for example, we must keep tax records even if you ask us to delete them.

9. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies, mostly to keep you signed in and secure. Our Cookie Policy lists each one and what it does.

10. Children

JustClip is for people aged 16 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. Access to personal data is limited to the people who need it to run JustClip. Payment card details are handled by Stripe, which is certified to PCI DSS Level 1. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal data in a way that puts you at high risk, we will tell you.

12. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the way we handle personal data changes. If we make a significant change, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it last changed.

13. Contact and complaints

For anything about privacy, email [email protected] or write to BLACKCROSS STUDIO LTD, 78 York Street, London W1H 1DP, United Kingdom.

Complaining to a regulator

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113). If you live in the European Union, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country.
